From October 5 to 7, 2020, Academician Expert Workstation Seminar and Green Catalysis Think Tank work sponsored by Shanghai Low Carbon Technology Innovation Functional Platform was held in Songjiang, Shanghai. More than 20 academician experts including Academician He Mingyuan, Academician Chen Kaixian, Academician Bao Xinhe, Academician Ding Kuiling, Academician Duan Xue, Academician Han Buxing and Academician Wu Yundong attended the conference. Sun Yuhan, director of Shanghai Low Carbon Technology Innovation Functional Platform, presided over the opening ceremony of the seminar, and Li Xiaonian, President of Zhejiang University of Technology, summarized the recent work of Green Catalysis Think Tank.
At the seminar, researcher Wang
Hui, executive director of the platform, introduced the progress of the
low-carbon functional platform, and reported the phased results of the
industrial pilot project of carbon dioxide hydrogenation to synthesize methanol
of 5000 tons/year; Professor Lu Yong of East China Normal University, President
Yang Weimin of Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute of Sinopec, and
researcher Tang Zhiyong of Shanghai Institute of Advanced Studies of Chinese
Academy of Sciences respectively made special reports on methane oxidative
coupling/carbon dioxide hydrogenation catalytic utilization, carbon dioxide
chemical technology and its prospect and bionic microfluidic chemical industry.
Based on the theme of green carbon science, academicians and experts made
wonderful comments on the utilization of carbon resources, carbon dioxide
chemical industry, bionic reactor and other related work, and put forward
valuable guiding opinions on the development of the platform and future
strategic deployment and the follow-up work of academician workstation. At
present, under the promotion of the green catalytic think tank, the platform is
implementing projects such as the demonstration of green hydrogen energy and
its utilization in the west, the low-carbon transformation and utilization of
carbon-rich resources and the efficient utilization of characteristic
resources.
Academician Ming Yuan stressed the
importance of carbon resource processing and carbon atom economy optimization,
shared recent research results and put forward some suggestions for the
development of green carbon science. Academician Bao Xinhe and others pointed
out that China has huge carbon emission resources, carbon dioxide is not only a
"new" carbon source, but also its transformation and utilization is a
major energy issue, to realize the efficient transformation and recycling of
carbon resources has become the trend of The Times. "Green carbon
science" can build a new green ecological energy chemical industry system,
requiring us to gradually form a system from high carbon to low carbon or even
carbon neutral based on the existing energy system.

This symposium presents a
high-level and high-standard academic feast for the field of low-carbon technology.
Through academic exchanges and discussions, the collision and leapfrog in
cognition were realized, and the cultivation of platform innovation team was
strengthened; Through technical collaboration and industrial cooperation, it
gives full play to the leading role of academicians and experts, promotes the
close combination of advanced scientific research achievements and the needs of
the platform's innovation and development, and promotes the organic connection
and efficient operation of "production, university, research and
application". This is of great significance to promoting the overall
strategic layout of low-carbon functional platforms, improving scientific and
technological innovation capabilities and building a low-carbon scientific and
technological innovation hub.
