The Fourteenth Five-Year Plan is a critical period for China to formulate the peak carbon dioxide emissions action plan and implement the work related to the carbon neutrality goal, especially the green and low-carbon transformation and sustainable development of the coal power industry, which is the key to achieving the carbon neutrality goal. On March 10, the "Symposium on Sustainable Development of Coal Power under the 'Double Carbon' Target" was co-sponsored by Shanghai Institute of Cleantech Innovation, Shanghai ICT Developer Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. in Shanghai.

      Sun Yuhan, head of the Shanghai Institute of Cleantech Innovation, said in his opening speech that under the goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality", the endowment of coal-based energy resources determines that the coal industry needs to give full play to its role as a stabilizer and ballast in the energy system on the basis of ensuring energy security. At present, China's coal power installed capacity is large, short service time, high carbon emissions, coal power units of carbon reduction and carbon control task is relatively heavy, the future hope to be able to use Shanghai's technology source power, multi-party cooperation to explore a low-carbon development of coal power, coal and renewable energy effective coupling of the development of a development path, to ensure the safe and smooth transformation of the energy structure and contribute to the realization of the national "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goal.
